CJ 540 Criminal Law Credits: 3
This graduate course teaches the fundamentals of Criminal Law in the United States at an advanced level. Advanced topics include the nature and history of criminal law, criminal liability, the concept of crime itself, as well as the legal and social dimensions of crimes against persons and crimes against property. The administration of justice, punishment, and sentencing are also taught within the context of their function in society and the influence of society on their function.
